Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

This policy explains what ConConnect collects about you, why, and what control you have over it.

Who we are

ConConnect is operated by Joshua Morrison, Sydney, NSW, Australia. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

If you have a question about this policy, contact us at support@conconnect.com.au.

What we collect

When you create an account and use the app, we collect:

  • Your name, email address and mobile number.
  • The trades you work in, your years of experience, skills, certifications and the rates you set.
  • Your home address and the service area you choose to advertise.
  • Jobs you create or are hired onto, including site addresses, dates, notes, expenses and revenue.
  • Applications, invitations and the businesses you belong to.
  • A device token if you turn on push notifications.

We do not collect payment card details. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, and payment between users for work is arranged directly between them, outside the app.

Verifying your phone number

We send a one-time code by SMS when you sign up or change your number. The code and the details you entered are held briefly so the account can be created once the code is confirmed, then deleted automatically.

Location

Job sites are stored as an address and coordinates so jobs can be shown on a map and found by people searching an area. Your advertised service area is visible on your public profile.

Your home address is private and is never shown to other users. Profiles are not searchable by location. Only jobs are.

If you allow it, the app uses your device location to centre the map and suggest addresses. You can turn this off in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

Contacts on your device

If you choose to invite someone to a job by text message, the app asks permission to read your device contacts so it can show a list to pick from. Those contacts stay on your device. We do not upload, store or analyse your address book.

What other people can see

Your name, trades, service area, experience, skills, certifications, rates and business are visible to other signed-in users. That is the point of the marketplace. People need to know who they are hiring.

Your job details, expenses and revenue are visible only to you, the people you hire, and members of your business according to their role.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that make the app work:

  • Supabase: hosts the database, authentication and files.
  • Expo: delivers push notifications to your device.
  • Google Maps: displays maps and suggests addresses.
  • Open-Meteo: returns the forecast for a job site.
  • Apple and Google: process subscription payments.
  • Sentry: receives crash reports when the app hits an error.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Crash reports

When the app hits an error we send a report so we can fix it. It contains the error, where in the app it happened, your device model and the app version.

It identifies you only by your account's internal ID (not your name, email or phone) so we can tell whether an error is affecting one person repeatedly or many people once. We don't send the contents of your jobs, messages or files.

Where it is stored

Data is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider. Some of these services process data overseas, which means your information may be handled outside Australia.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. Job records are kept so both sides retain an accurate history of work done and money owed.

Files you upload to a job, such as plans, are removed 30 days after that job is completed. Download anything you need before then.

Verification codes are deleted within minutes of use or expiry.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This removes your profile and personal details.

Jobs and payment records involving other people are retained where we need them to keep the other party's records accurate or to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

You can access and correct your information from your profile at any time. If you would like a copy of what we hold, or think something is wrong, contact us.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy issue, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. We ask that you raise it with us first at support@conconnect.com.au so we have a chance to fix it.

Security

Access to your data is enforced at the database level, so each account can only reach the records it is entitled to. You sign in with a one-time code, so there is no password for us to store. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every risk.

Children

The app is for people working in the construction industry and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
